If you recall, my first week’s goal was keeping track of what I eat and how much I exercise. It is much easier to know where you have room for improvement when you know where you are already at. I have been exercising more and eating lots more fruits and veggies!
Last week, it was out to the yard and garden. Some improvement there. Proud to say that for the last four weeks, I have had the garbage can completely full and overflowing thanks to all my pruning and weeding. Surprisingly, it is a little therapeutic working out there with my little ones. Now I can’t wait to see the roses blooming, pick and eat juicy raspberries, and cook with my fresh cilantro.
This week my focus is on home and family. The TV monster has bitten our family. My little ones LOVE cartoons A LOT. The addiction spiraled out of control starting in January when we were sick with bronchitis, colds, flus, you name it until mid-March. My 2.5 year old wakes up asking for milk and movies. Sigh. That’s what happens when the entire family is so sick and miserable for so long … unfortunate habits form.
Lily, the 2.5 year old, loves learning new things so I am focusing on planning more activities for her and Cort, the 9 month old, this week. More accurately, I guess, I would like to create an environment that fosters learning and having fun – without the TV.
To prep for the week I went to the library and got this book:
I’ve been wanting to check it out for awhile. Fun writing, beautiful pictures, and lots of possibilities for learning about food, geography, and reading. We’ll even be attempting our own apple pie. Lots of A activities are planned for this week as well. More to come!
and this book has become a funny favorite ….
Sandra Boynton is fabulously funny and I don’t mind reading her books over and over and over again. My daughter has them memorized after only a few readings. So fun!
