I’m always looking for yummy. kid-friendly breakfast ideas. My almost three year old has her mind made up about how the morning should go …. milk and movies. She is a milk addict and will not start her day happily without it.
So the more fun and nutritious I can make breakfast – the better! Amy, over at Super Healthy Kids, recently posted about Breakfast on a Stick. Seriously, you need to go check out her pictures! Her’s look yummy, fun, and nutritious. A dead camera battery prevents me from showing you how our’s turned out.
The idea is simple. Cut up your favorite bread into fun shapes, like stars, and layer it on a skewer with your favorite fruits. Amy posted a yummy recipe for french toast and I did pieces of waffle from Trainer Momma’s recipe since I had a batch made up in the freezer. So easy, so yummy. We added blackberries and strawberries as well.
My three year old loved putting the pieces on herself, all by herself. She flew it around the kitchen like a rocket ship for about 10 minutes before devouring it. Success!

My mom gave me “dinner on a stick” ideas… that worked pretty good with Kyrie. I've never tried breakfast on a stick. Will have to try that. Kyrie's a hit-and-miss kind of breakfast eater. Some days she devours it, others she waits for lunch.

Glad she ate it up. We'll have to try it with waffles too!
