How my poor dehydrated body feels! Like it is in Goblin Valley at 97 degree heat!

It’s amazing what you rlearn when you become in the habit of keeping track of certain things. For example, you’re supposed to drink 8 8oz cups of water a day or two liters. Never thought I really had to keep track of this because, duh, it is water and I drink water throughout the day. No biggie, right?

WRONG!!!!
I decided to see how much water I drank when I consciously was thinking about it during a typical day at home. I filled up my handy dandy water mug from the hospital and put it in the fridge. To get my two liters in, I would need to drink two of them in a day. I drank water when I felt thirsty and when I reminded myself up until about 1 pm (the time nap time and craziness hits when my three year old decides not to nap). And then I just drank it sporadically throughout the day. By the end of the day I discovered that I had only drank one liter!

The next day was even worse, I didn’t fill up my mug until 11 am and then it was only half empty by the end of the day.

Big eye opener for me! No wonder I am tired. No wonder I have an hard time losing weight (although my love of chocolate and butter might have something to do with it, too). No wonder I am hungry all the time (we often mistake thirsty cues for hunger cues).

So today, I am going to hit by two liters! One by lunch and one by bed time. I’ll let you know how I feel. I bet it will be a lot better!

Yes, water is so important and underappreciated! I have to remember to chug it too, one of the biggest challenges!!

Good luck and keep moving forward!! Slow and steady wins the race!!

Thanks for the reminder. I'm going to count my water today. I always try to make myself drink 65 oz of water, BEFORE I get a diet coke ๐Ÿ™‚

What a fantastic idea! I know I am not drinking enough water- even though it's the only thing I drink most days. I bet it would be pretty sad if I measured it.

Oh, I am so guilty of this…I know that there are days that go by that I don't touch a glass of water. No wonder I'm still hanging onto so much baby weight. It can be a challenge, but thanks for the reminder! Thanks for visiting my blog!
