My Aunt Melanie came up with the genius idea to do a Trost family Biggest Loser competition over the holiday season. Didn’t take long to convince me! I’ve been looking for more motivation to lose the rest of this baby – and just plain laziness – weight. I have about 25 pounds that I want to lose before we get pregnant with our next baby – a tall order I know! Our competition will last 12 weeks.

Here are our before and after photos:

Johnny decided to go for a realistic before with food in his mouth.

So what is my game plan? Today I moseyed on over to sparkpeople.com and started a new profile. In the past I have tried Weight Watchers, but haven’t followed through so I am going for the free option this time! Here are a few of the goals I established:

  1. Track food every day. This is a big one as we are in the midst of holiday season. My arch nemisis the Trick or Treat bucket has gotten me every day this week. All those little Kit Kats add up! Typically when I start to deviate from the health plan I just quit tracking for the day and call it a loss – not today! I fessed up and adjusted my meal plan for the day. Only 2 fat grams over. Not bad!
  2. Drink 8 glasses of water a day. Success for the day at least!
  3. Run a 4 mile race on Thanksgiving Day. I am running to raise money to support the Huntsman Cancer Institute in honor of my Grandma Kimball. There will be a post coming on this!
  4. No eating out. This is huge for Johnny and I. During the summer we limited eating out and had some great weight loss! August brought some stress and trials and we turned back to our fast fatty weights which resulted in regaining that weight. But we are back on the band wagon and have been fast food free for 10 days.

And that is just the beginning! What are some of your favorite weight loss tips?

Hope you don't mind me stopping by to comment. I happened to stumble across your site and just want to say that you have no idea how much I needed to read this today. I have felt like the biggest failure this week… trick or treat bag is killing me this week too. Thanks for posting a little inspiration. You gave me the little boost I needed to move forward.
