The most fun and busiest vacation these Parkers have ever taken & a whole lot of laundry!

Tip #1

With three under the age of five, I don’t have a whole lot of help in the packing department (although they are excellent unpackers!).

With each child we have had and each vacation we have gone on, I have slowly refined our packing process. On our last California vacation two years ago, I decided to do away with our individual bags and simply pack each person’s outfits by day all together.
Simply put – everyone’s outfits+shoes for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday all went in one bag. The outfits for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday went in the second bag. When you are gone for a week or more plus staying at different hotels – this is the way to do it. Who wants to haul upwards of four or five different bags into your hotel room every night?
For this vacation – since we added another adorable little person – I wanted the process to be even simpler. Enter Pinterest. I saw the idea to put your children’s outfits into ziploc bags by day and label them. Genius!
Since it was sunny California, all three of their little outfits fit into the ziploc bag for each day. It was easy peasy to pull out the bag each night and already have everyone’s outfits including socks, underwear, and accessories already set out for the day.
I also did a few extra ziploc baggies with the extra outfits. Believe me – if you are spending all day at SeaWorld or Disneyland – you are going to need them. Even for the older children. You’ll get soaked in the splash zone, the ice cream will get smeared all over their shirt, or someone’s diaper will happen to explode. Extra outfits are a must.
