Holiday weekends mean movies at the Parker house! We are on the edge of our seats excited to see Disney’s Moana! Moana opens in theaters this weekend so we are doing party prep to get ourselves pumped!
First up! The trailer. We’ve seen it lots on the big screen, but it is still fun to watch it at home!
And you’ve got to have a taste of Hawaii before you go to see Moana, too. Pineapple anyone? We made this yummy Hawaiian Pasta Salad for lunch.
- ½ pound dry elbow macaroni, prepared according to package directions and rinsed in cold water
- 1 can (20 ounces) pineapple chunks, drained (reserve ½ cup liquid for dressing)
- 2 cups cubed cooked ham or deli ham
- ½ cup thinly sliced carrots
- ¼ cup green onion
- 1/2 cup cubed cheddar cheese
- Pineapple Dressing:
- ½ cup reserved pineapple juice
- ½ light mayonnaise
- ¼ cup honey vanilla greek yogurt
- In a large bowl, combine macaroni, pineapple chunks, ham, carrots, and green onion in a bowl. set aside.
- In a small bowl whisk together the mayonnaise, greek yogurt, cider vinegar, and sugar. Pour over pasta and stir to coat.
Now onto the fun! Disney has released so many fun printable activities for the kids. These are a few of our favorites.
Click on the picture to download and print six pages worth of Memory Cards. My kids LOVE this game.
My kids can’t get enough of mazes and coloring pages, too!
The last item on our Moana to-do list is to enter the Aulani Resort Giveaway!
Can you believe that I have never been to Hawaii? This trip would be absolutely amazing!
I hope that your family is as excited to see Moana as mine is! Have fun getting ready to see it and let me know what you think!

We were exited for the movie the first time we saw the previews! I think it was during the summer – we’ve been waiting so long!
